Secularis was formed in 2007 by a few people who do Renaissance Faires and Viking Festivals and fight in live-steel sword battle pageants wearing chain mail and armor. The ideas for the music were going to be based on Vikings and battle and dragons and wizards, witches, asteroids crashing into earth and futuristic Sci Fi. SECULARIS April 24, 012: our music and song topics are not anti Christian, anti Muslim anti religion, they are anti human bullshit. We do not think it is religion responsible for the evil. We believe it is humans responsible. Like Behemoth, we use religious antiquity to create the aura and feel of a song to educate, not taking either side other than the human side of caring for people first and foremost. It is the evil people do in the name of religious theology that is wrong. Not the religion. As a knight Ragnar has taken oaths to protect people and their beliefs regardless if he believes them himself. These mystical and timeless beliefs are many and all humans should have the right to study and accept any belief system they choose. Secularis music merely points out the various deeds done by man whether they be dark age atrocities or science fiction miracles of profound futuristic oddities. We represent the secular imagination that spans all humans good and bad.
